Gamestop's Digital Age


            Video game retailer, Gamestop is attempting to push into the digital realm by expanding their digital distribution.
             
            Gamestop’s commitment to this goal is supported by their acquisition Spawn Labs, a company that develops streaming technology, and the digital distribution platform, Impulse Inc.
            
            "With these important acquisitions, we will continue to make appropriate investments related to our multichannel strategy," Gamestop CEO J. Paul Raines said.
            
            With these new acquisitions and Gamestop’s growing stock of digitally sold games, it is possible that physical game discs may one day become a thing of the past.
             
            "GameStop is uniquely positioned to be the leader in both the physical and digital gaming space,” Raines said.
